  • Can't connect using ethernet

i have used straight and crossover cable to connect Robotino and PC, but failed.
    anyone can help me ??
what is the best ethernet ? straight or crossover?

thank you, sorry for my bad english

If you directly connect PC<>PC you need a crossover cable. To be sure you could connect to it through an ethernet switch which mostly do automatic configuration of the ports so it doesn't matter which cable you use (search for "Auto MDI-X" as feature). But in any case, you need to manually configure the IP adress of your PC to be in the same network as the robotino is (set an IP manually). Did you do that?

Did you configure exact the same IP as the Robotino has? That won't work. If the IP adress of the Robotino is e.g. 192.168.10.1 then you need to change the last number to be different (e.g. 192.168.10.2 ). And as I said for direct cable connection you need a crossover cable, not a normal one.

Just to be sure, the subnet mask needs to be 255.255.255.0 (no change in numbers there).

If that is true what you said - using a straight cable - this won't work! Never! You need a crossover network cable (search ebay etc. for an example).

              See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable

i am using crossover, and its always "Destination Host Unreachable"

does robotino have not ethernet driver?
i am using converter ethernet to usb

I don't speak portuguese but from what I can decipher and from the images you are showing how to get the IP from the WiFi network of the Robotino. At least at Robotino 3 both interfaces have different IP ranges (WiFi 172.26.1.x, Ethernet 192.168.10.x). So I guess you cannot get the IP by looking at the WiFi settings. But you can login via WiFi and then check the network configuration by typing "ifconfig".

When the Robotino starts, the LCD display shows a number of IP (eg 192.168.1.1). You should put that same address in your Laptop only changing the last digit (eg 192.168.1.2).
To make the change go active connections (Picture 1.png) -> Click to connect to Robotino (Picture 2.png) -> Go to properties (Picture 3.jpg) -> TCP / IPv4 (Picture 4 .png) -> make the change in IP address (Picture 5.png).
Note: I was not connected to the Robotino. More steps are the same for any network using fixed IP.
Maybe you need a crossover cable as our friend Misken said.

You should put your laptop on the same ip range of Robotino regardless of medium (network cable or wifi).
If you are communicating with him using the Wifi only change only the last IP number. Do the same if you use the lan network. The change must be made on your laptop of course.
                        Sincerely.
